Duolingo vs Deepstash: Which Learning App Fits You in 2026?
These two apps are not really competitors, which is the first useful thing to say about them. Duolingo is a drilling machine: short exercises, immediate correction, a streak that punishes absence, aimed mainly at languages with side courses in maths and music. Deepstash is a reading surface: short idea cards pulled from books and articles, saved into collections you curate yourself. Duolingo builds a skill you can perform. Deepstash builds a library you can browse. If you want measurable progress at one thing, pick Duolingo. If you want a steady drip of ideas across many subjects, Deepstash suits you better, as long as you accept that recognising an idea is not the same as retaining it. Disclosure: MindSnap is our app, and it sits in a third category described near the end.
